My love for acting began in childhood while growing up in San Felipe, a small town in central Chile. I spent afternoons with my grandmother watching soap operas from Mexico, Venezuela, and Brazil, captivated by how actors transformed into doctors one season and journalists, lawyers, or firemen the next. From then on, I was determined to become an actress.

However, my family circumstances required me to choose a career that offered financial stability. As the first in my family to attend college, I pursued journalism, which allowed me to tell stories using my voice as an instrument. After graduating, I joined Radio Cooperativa, Chile’s leading news station, where I broadcast stories to millions. As a reporter and producer, I loved crafting narratives that resonated through voice, tone, pitch, ambient sounds, and even silence.

Still, my dream of acting never faded. In 2010, I moved to Canada to improve my English, working as a house cleaner by day and studying at night. I took acting classes in Toronto and later in Miami. Although frustrated that I couldn’t study acting full-time, I believed furthering my studies in journalism would not only help me perfect my English but also strengthen my storytelling skills. In 2016, I earned an M.S. in Science Journalism from Texas A&M University on a Fulbright Scholarship.

In 2017, I was finally able to study acting full-time, completing the Hagen Core Training at HB Studio in New York City, also on scholarship. That same year, I trained with Double Edge Theatre in Massachusetts, immersing myself in physical theatre and discovering new ways to connect with my emotional life and artistic expression.

In 2023, I earned my MFA in Acting from the University of Washington School of Drama. Since then, I’ve been working as an actor and teaching artist in Seattle. Acting has pushed me to confront the intersections of my gender, nationality, family background, and international experiences—shaping my identity as both a Chilean and a Latina woman.
